One of the activities under the Project relates to “developing legislation on introduction, early detection, prevention and management of IAS in marine and coastal wetland ecosystems,” whereas the report presents an analysis of the current situation on IAS legislation.
The report prepared by the project advisor Assc.Prof.Dr. Süheyla Suzan Gökalp Alıca first examines international and regional instruments on invasive alien species, and analyses national legislation and legislative drafts with provisions directly or indirectly relating to the matter. The report also includes an examination of legislation laying down the functions and responsibilities of relevant entities.
