At the meeting held on 08 June 2021, project incentive mechanisms expert Dr. Aylin ULMAN and socio-economics expert Prof. Dr. Vahdet ÜNAL discussed the incentive mechanisms for the five IASs targeted by the MarIAS Project, and emphasized the problems encountered in incentive mechanisms and the points to be considered in program design through case studies. In addition, the most appropriate incentive approaches for marine IAS in Turkey were conveyed to the DG Nature Conservation and National Parks (GDNCP) and UNDP project teams, and the general framework was discussed, by examining the incentive mechanisms developed for combating marine IAS in the World and Turkey.
