The meeting on “Harvest Incentive Programs within the scope of Lionfish, Balloonfish and Water Hyacinth” was held on 12-13 July 2021 in Antakya-Hatay.
At the meeting, Dr. Aylin ULMAN and Prof. Dr. Cemal TURAN shared the most appropriate Harvest Incentive Program approaches for the Indo-Pacific origin Lionfish (Pterois miles), Puffer fish (Lagocephalus sceleratus) and Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) populations, which started to appear in the Mediterranean and have negative effects on marine biodiversity, human health and the economy. They come-up with solutions on how to control them and brought into the economy.
